Last July I had the incredible pleasure of photographing Ryan & Katelyn’s wedding in West Saint Paul, MN. It was the kind of wedding that at the end, even though I’d been standing on my feet for some 10+ hours, I wasn’t ready to go home. Not a minute of the day felt like work! Now it wasn’t a “Pinterest perfect” wedding, they didn’t obsess over details or hire the top dollar vendors, so why did I love photographing their wedding so much? Because Ryan & Katelyn were focused on two thing; becoming husband and wife and loving their guests. They had such a wonderful day because of it and everyone in the room felt the love! I guess to me, in this Pinterest crazed world, they are this beacon to me, that you don’t need to have a perfectly decorated wedding, with every detail thought out to have an incredible wedding. Now don’t get me wrong, I am still a photographer and I do LOVE those tiny details and I loooove a beautifully decorated wedding, BUT I firmly believe that thee single most important part of a wedding day is becoming husband and wife and these two got that so right. I’m not the only one that thinks so either, our friends at TheKnot.com featured their wedding on their blog this week and it just warms my heart! I’ve been telling them since their wedding day how much I loved it and now I can say that I’m not the only one who thought so 🙂
