I had the pleasure of ringing in 2018 by photographing Marta & Luke’s New Year’s Eve wedding in snowy Minneapolis, MN! The bold and cold state was flexing its muscles by delivering temperatures well below zero but we stayed warm and cozy at the Golden Valley Country Club for an evening of champagne and dancing!
The day began in downtown Minneapolis at the bride’s beautiful apartment overlooking the city. It was the ideal setting for a morning of getting ready with your squad and mini squad (adorable flower girls). Luke and his groomsmen got ready for the day at the country club and Luke would later meet up downtown for the first look!
Marta’s details were exceptional! I loved her bouquet full of white roses, Israeli ruscus and eucalyptus. The show stopper was of course her sparkling pair of Jimmy Choos that her husband-to-be surprised her with! Combine that with the marble invitation suite designed by the bride and it all came together beautifully!
One of the coolest parts about the city of Minneapolis are the skyways that create a vast grid connecting the buildings downtown. (Aka, they allow you to stay indoors in the winter, genius) We made our way from Marta’s apartment to a beautiful building a couple blocks away with huge windows and marble floors. Honestly, the only reason I found this place was because I got lost in the skyways trying to find Marta’s apartment. However, I think it was meant to be! I’m so glad I got lost and stumbled across this gem, it was perfect!
Marta & Luke shared their first look here and we spent the next part of the day photographing this adorable pair as we made our way through the skyways! If the photos aren’t proof enough, then hear it from me, these two are adorable! I love the way Luke looks at Marta, his eyes are so full of love and you can just see the way Marta lights up around him! Photographing them is really a joy!
Shout out to my second shooter, Sarah for the below image! I’m not even going to try and take credit for how awesome it is!
The wedding party had the perfect attire for a New Year’s Eve wedding! The ladies looked flawless in their floor-length Adrianna Papell shimmering dresses and the groomsmen wore classic black suits. The color palette of metallic and green from the abundance of eucalyptus were beautiful for a winter New Year’s Eve wedding!
We quickly braved the freezing temperatures and captured the wedding party outside at the Golden Valley Country Club! I’m so glad we did and could capture the full aesthetics of the day! Thank you wedding party for being SO awesome!!
Marta & Luke became husband and wife at a beautiful evening service at King Of Grace Lutheran Church and were sent off to the reception by their family and wedding party with a sparkler exit!
Instead of a cake cutting Marta & Luke did a champagne tower and it was SO fun! I loved this alternative and it was perfect for New Year’s Eve!
