Ohhh Karina and Tyler, where do I even begin with you two?
I’m just crazy about this couple. They’re so sweet, madly in love and well, they aren’t bad looking either. I had been looking forward to this wedding for what felt like forever and let me tell you, it absolutely lived up to the expectations I built up in my head!
They were married on what was supposed to be a rainy day in May in beautiful Encinitas California; the cute beachy city that they fell in love with and hope to live in one day. All week long the forecast called for rain but Karina and Tyler went with their gut and kept their plans in tact for their all outdoors ceremony and reception. Thank goodness they did! The day of their wedding I woke up to down pouring rain in San Diego and a forecast calling for rain all. day.long. I hopped in my car and drove the 20 minutes north to Encinitas where the sun was shining and it was a gorgeous 70 degrees!
Karina, Tyler and their friends all stayed the weekend at the Surf house Boutique Hotel in Leucadia and it was absolutely perfect for getting ready the morning of! Aesthetically speaking, it couldn’t have been better. Give me laid back vibes and ocean colors any day and I’m sold! The morning was super chill and set the tone for the whole day.
Their ceremony and reception was held at this little gem called Barrels and Branches. It’s a plant nursey that doubles as an event space for small gatherings and weddings. It’s really cozy and intimate creating the perfect atmosphere for this 100 guest count wedding. It matched Karina & Tyler’s style and personality perfectly!
We made it through most of the day without rain. It sprinkled a little bit here and there and during the reception it might have sprinkled a lot, but I’m telling you Karina and Tyler were just so great and I’m not even entirely sure they noticed! They were full of this infectious energy all day (and maybe some beer at the end) and were in their own little love bubble! The adorable clear umbrellas were super helpful and I highly recommend them to anyone that is worried about a rainy wedding.
I was SO honored to photograph this awesome wedding day and I’m grateful to call these two friends. Now please move to San Diego, right now.
Karina’s mother wore this same robe for her own wedding. How cool is that?
I love this! They accidentally kissed right when they got up there.
There was even a rainbow during the reception!
